My ‘Memories of Mowgly’ album was created after my son Julian’s death by suicide in 2019. It is a mixture of light and shade, comprising some songs and tunes written when Julian was very young, some during his childhood and young adulthood, and some after his death. It includes a wide range of instruments, such as violin, cello, harp, piano, ukulele, mandolin, keyboard and more.
Making this album has helped me to not only pay tribute to my son but also to deal with the enormous grief that followed his death.
Julian was a top skateboarder and his skateboard persona was ‘Mowgly’ due to his Jungle Boy looks when younger. His friends still refer to him as Mowgly or Mowgs to this day.
