The SongBirds (US) to perform a run of Victorian shows

Three-part harmony supergroup from the US, The SongBirds, have announced that they will perform a run of Victorian shows to complement their four days of performances at Port Fairy Folk Festival in 2024. Comprising three of the world’s finest vocalists: Mexican-American Erica Canales, a long time touring member of The Killers; Guatemalan Latin Grammy winner, Gaby Moreno; and, Australian-born Emmy and Grammy nominee, Dannielle De Andrea, also “The Voice” behind John Farnham, Ariana Grande and Jackson Browne. Hailed for their exhilarating live performances, The SongBirds have sold out club and festival shows across the United States, Australia and Central America, with an upcoming London showcase. The SongBirds have provided live vocals for some of history’s greatest comedy and musical figures, including Jackson Browne, Barry Humphries (Dame Edna), Harry Shearer (Spinal Tap/The Simpsons) and Van Dyke Parks. They’ve also performed live with Dweezil Zappa, Latin Superstar, Ricardo Arjona, Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa, Meghan Trainor and film star, Oscar Isaac, to name a few. The group’s live resume features TV appearances on productions including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Billboard Music Awards and The Project in Australia. Popular American radio presenter, Garrison Keillor, showcased the group on his US radio show, Prairie Home Companion, broadcast to over 4 million listeners. Brought together by their love of singing, fashion, film and times gone by, The SongBirds’ signature sound has huge crossover appeal for audiences across genres including folk, soul, jazz, blues and Americana. Award winning songwriters, The SongBirds have recently released their debut album, ‘Dreamers Dream On’, which serves up the soundtrack to a fantastical world where the 1920s meets the 2020s. The album is a delicious smorgasbord of original and vintage songs featuring production and instrumentation by the cream of the international music community, including Erik Kertes (Michael Buble), Drew Taubenfeld (Lil Nas X, Charli XCX, Kacey Musgraves) and Larry Goldings (John Mayer). An accomplished singer and songwriter, Erica Canales currently provides backing vocals for The Killers and has sung live and/or in studio with Sir Elton John, Chrissie Hynde, Brian Wilson, Gwen Stefani and Ben Harper. Erica has performed at major festivals around the world, including Glastonbury, and recently appeared on international TV performing a duet of the song Runaway Horses with Brandon Flowers on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Born and raised in Guatemala, Gaby Moreno is an award winning singer songwriter, producer and composer. Gaby’s voice and songwriting was recently showcased in the Oscar-nominated film, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. The song Por Que Te Vas was written and recorded in Australia shortly after Gaby’s appearance at Womadelaide’s 30th Anniversary. Gaby has released an orchestral album with Van Dyke Parks and duetted with Jackson Browne, Hugh Laurie, Andrea Bocelli, and Star Wars actor, Oscar Isaac. Australian-born, Dannielle De Andrea’s voice is woven through Aussie music history. She has achieved chart success in the UK and Australia and worked with Australian artists such as Guy Sebastian, Kylie Minogue, Glenn Shorrock and most famously, John Farnham. International acts on her resume include Ariana Grande, Jackson Browne, James Brown, Joe Cocker, and she’s currently touring with Joe Bonnamassa. |
