Kathryn Jones Debut Album

Oh Brother come home is a beautifully crafted, and daringly honest portrayal  of the journey of people and life.
Kathryn’s warm rich vocals penetrate the heart with clarity that is rarely experienced yet widely sought after today.

Kathryn Jones at an early age discovered her passion for music. By the  tender age of 14 she formed her first rock band and at 17 was playing up and down the coast.

Over the next five years Kathryn’s powerful stage presence earned herself a solid reputation as a no nonsense, driven woman dedicated to refining her skills as a vocalist and performer that has been exposed to many different genres which later influenced her varied writing styles. However, the deepest well of inspiration for her music derives from her journey as a young mother of four boys and wife.

As Kathryn has grown into herself, so too has she grown on the northern NSW music scene, seducing audiences with her stunning vocals and sassy, homegrown humour which is sought after by others to accompany them at live gigs and festivals. A talented singer in her own right Kathryn Delivers a complete show leaving all sense stimulated and tantalized.

. Kathryn Jones ‘Oh Brother Come Home’

CD Review by John Williams

Kathryn Jones hails from Brunswick Heads and is quickly emerging as a serious artist and is also busy raising her family of four boys.

She has won a North Coast Dolphin Award for best Song with the title track of this CD, the very personal ‘Oh Brother Come Home.

It is about her estranged brother who contacted her two days after she launched her CD in Byron Bay.  Karma?

She was also a finalist for Best Female Vocal in the same awards.

Kathryn gained positive reviews at Tamworth Country Music festival when she attended in 2008.

At Tamworth Kathryn performed with Clelia Adams and River Valley Express as she also did at the Gympie Muster.

This CD has six tracks, all written by Kathryn.

Kathryn plays guitar and is accompanied by Pat Gunderson on guitar and keyboard.

The pair create a mellow, easy to listen to sound.

Kathryn has a memorable voice and the quality of it shines in every track.

I enjoyed all the tracks on the CD.  ‘Crossfire of Pain’, ‘When I Fly’, ‘Steppin’ Up’, ‘You’re The One’ and ‘No Place To Hide’ are all personal stories and all are well worth a listen.

Kathryn is currently writing for her next CD and if it as good as this one it will be worth waiting for.

Highly recommended.
