The album “Yonder Comes the Blues” from the Kenny White Project.
The Kenny White Project- Yonder comes the Blues
Review by John Williams
This is a classic blues album from a well known exponent who has had many years involvement in the music scene.
Kenny has been around the Australian Blues scene since the beginning.
With Kenny’s heritage of being taught by Frank Traynor and Ade Monsborough and partnering Graham Squance you would expect this CD to be one out of the box…… and it is!
The CD is made up of Kenny’s favorites, played his way.
There are sixteen tracks on the CD and all of them are well worth a listen.
Kenny has developed a wonderful guitar sound over the years and his ability is displayed to its full extent on the CD.
Kenny’s unique Australian voice comes through on all tracks.
There wasn’t one track I didn’t like and the selection is as varied as you would expect from an artist with such a long involvement in the blues.
In the words of Dutch Tilders, “I have known Kenny White for four decades and more.”
“Kenny’s album consists of well thought out instrumentation and delightful harmonies on the gospel songs.”
“Kenny’s vocals are superbly relaxed.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed the album.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
If you are a fan of the blues then this CD is well worth a place in your collection.
