The Penola Coonawarra Acoustic Music Gathering is returning from March 1-3 and it promises to be an unforgettable event.

It is held on the Limestone Coast of South Australia.

With 17 headline acts confirmed, along with a variety of music workshops and jam sessions, attendees will be treated to a jam-packed program.

The event focuses on acoustic music, with a strong emphasis on original music.

The Gathering will showcase local and national talent, and audiences can expect to be blown away by the sheer talent on display.

Featured performers include the multi-talented Gallie and singer songwriter Fred Smith, the 2022 Australian Folk Music Awards Solo Artist of the Year.

In addition to the headline acts, the Gathering will also feature local talent such as Anne Fraser and Kelly Menhennett.

Anne Fraser is an award winning Mount Gambier singer songwriter, while Kelly Menhennett is a nationally renowned soul/roots/alt-country artist with a captivating live presence.

Saturday’s workshops will cover a wide range of topics, including Bluegrass harmony singing, songwriting, fiddle playing basics, and lap slide guitar.

There will also be plenty of opportunities for open mic sessions and jamming throughout the weekend.

To keep attendees fuelled up and hydrated, the Gathering has secured 11 food vans and Blok Estate will be on hand to provide a wine bar for patrons.

For those looking for something a little different, the well attended free entry Sunday market will return from 10.30 am to 3 pm.
