As with many Celestial Harmonies/Parsons productions, the music, while sometimes academic, is nonetheless deeply moving, evocative, with a rich tonal palette and nuance. How David Parsons manages these gorgeous productions in local, challenging surroundings is astonishing.
The performances were apparently created for an art exhibition, and designed to flow one into another as the viewers moved from room to room. Interesting idea, would love to have been there! For those of us who weren’t, we can enjoy this CD of beautiful Indian music and be transported to another world. Outstanding liner notes as well. Strongly recommended.
