Boorloo/Perth (Western Australia) singer-songwriter Calida Sari will release Songs
for the Invisible on 16 December 2026, completing a nine-single campaign that has
already attracted radio support across Australia, the UK and US.
Blending contemporary folk, Americana and alt-country, the album draws on Calida’s
lived experience of chronic illness, acquired disability and neurodivergence. Through
intimate storytelling and vivid imagery, its songs explore pain, trauma, grief, identity
and resilience, allowing humour and defiance to sit alongside vulnerability.
“But, I’ll Stay” captures the physical and emotional realities of chronic pain, while
“Not Today, Satan” confronts the seductive promise of escape through powerful
substances. “Searching” brings a lighter perspective to life with ADHD.
After many years away from music, Calida has rebuilt her creative practice around
disability. No longer able to perform live, she now connects with audiences through
recording, radio and media.
Since the release of “I Survived” in April, her music has received airplay across every
Australian state and both mainland territories, as well as the UK and US. WA support
includes RTRFM, HFM and Radio Margaret River, while several singles have
received high rotation on US-based SoundSphere Radio. “Not Today, Satan”
reached #12 and “I Survived” #16 on the Local Sounds Trending Chart.
The project has also attracted disability-focused media interest, including interviews
with 3CR’s The Boldness and Brainwaves, SYN’s Raise the Platform, The Pulse’s
Able to Be, the UK’s Cool and Chronic Podcast and US-based Invisible Not Broken.
Substantially created in WA, the album was co-mixed by Calida and Ben Hoare, with
“Surviving” mixed by Anthony Jackson and the complete album mastered by Adrian
Sardi.
Songs for the Invisible gives voice to experiences that often go unheard, inviting
listeners to feel recognised, understood and less alone.
