For Our Animal Friends is the long-awaited follow up to CODA’s 2002 ARIA Award nominated album There Is A Way To Fly and this EP will surely not disappoint!
Coda mix strings with electronics, groove with noise, pop with classical. They create soaring harmonies, laidback beats and a chill out sensibility.
Over the past 6 months, Coda have been concentrating on recording their second release for Silent Recordings. Coda appeal to a diverse & savvy listening audience, from classical to urban electronic heads. It is impossible to pigeonhole this artist collective and that is the beauty and appeal of Coda.
Coda has toured with a myriad of artists ranging from Leonardo’s Bride, Antenna, Savage Garden, and Jonathan Richman to the Kusun Ensemble. They have performed at the Big Day Out, Sydney Festival, Woodford Folk festival, Glenworth Valley, The Opera House studio space and Bennelong Restaurant. They recently performed as a 25 piece for the Wayne Cooper fashion week in Sydney.
Described as a soundscape to a fantastical dream, CODA’s music consistently transcends boundaries, and is a compelling mix of classical, far-eastern, rock and electronica. This collective of classically trained musicians performs with mastery, dressed in quirky headwear and outfits that transport audiences to a magical world. CODA’s performances are always uplifting cinematic musical experiences, often enhanced with theatrics, dance and costumes, making them one of the most innovative and visually spectacular music acts nationally and abroad. From playing at festivals such as the Big Day Out, Adelaide Festival and Woodford, to performing and recording with artists such as Josh Pyke, Gomez, Lior (Autumn Flow), avant-garde group Synergy Percussion and on Toni Collette’s forthcoming album, they are leaving their indelible footprint on the Australian music landscape.
