Damian Howard comes from a family of extraordinary talent.
Older siblings Shane and Marcia Howard were both members of legendary Oz band Goanna.
This three song EP is a showcase for his equally extraordinary talents, as a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (guitar and keyboards).
The EP’s final track, the gorgeous “Love Will Always Lead You Home” is a co-write with both Shane and Marcia, and is a fabulous showcase for Damian’s vocals and some sweet, sweet harmonies.
The music falls into the rockier end of the country rock spectrum, with superb playing, a great sense of rhythm, and some very tasty lead guitar from Jason King.
The Ploughboys are clearly well in sync with Damian’s songwriting ambitions.
“Out Of My Hands” features prominent Hammond organ textures from Richard Tankard, and the rhythm section (Jon Emry/Declan O’Neill- drums and James Rust- bass) anchors the bottom end with appropriate weight and style.
“All I Ever Wanted” features some sweet fiddle from Peter Denahy and the EP’s country rock styling benefits from Murray McDowell’s pedal steel.
